This
is an interior photo of the front room of the King of Prussia
Antique Shop, from a post card which dates from the late 40's. The back reads
"Early American furniture and glass. NO REPRODUCTIONS! Mrs. L.H. Morrison,
Proprietor". The early telepone number was "Norristown 140W".

A
photo of the interior of the King of Prussia Antique Shop and
Country Store, taken in the early 60's. At that time the Country
Store had been in continuous operation since 1750.
The Antique Shop was established in 1937 at 812 W. DeKalb Pike, where
it stood until the mid-80's, when it was torn
down to make room for a gas station.

The
historic King of Prussia Inn, dating back to
1709, looked like this in
1935.

A Christmas card from Lillie Armstrong the
postmaster. The woman to the left is Jean Supplee who owned the boarding
house that
was next door to the post office.

This
is a photo of the King
of Prussia Post Office, taken
in 1953. It was located on Jean Supplee's property, at the intersection
of route 202 and Gulph Road, just south of Weisbaum's drug store.
Jean Suppleee served as Post Mistress, along with Lillian Armstrong,
and my
grandmother Lucressa Morrison, who was the first. The Post Office seemed
to relocate to the Antique Shop, and then back to this little building,
probably depending on who was in charge. I have a blueprint dated November
1954, proposing a new post office to be erected behind the antique shop,
but it was never built.
